If you are looking for an easy and delicious Christmas dessert you need to make a Christmas Trifle. This is such a simple dessert to make for any of your holiday gatherings that your friends and family are guaranteed to enjoy.
I love making trifles for parties because they are so easy to make
and you can add or change any the ingredients to fit the occasion. Below
you will find all the ingredients you need along with step-by-step
instructions on how you can make this for your next party!
Christmas Trifle Ingredients:
- 1 Box of Red Devil Cake Mix {or homemade, sorry Im not much of a baker!}
- 1 Container of Cool Whip or 2 small containers
- 2 Large Boxes of Chocolate Pudding
- Optional – Candy Canes & Sprinkles
Christmas Trifle Directions:
To start the Christmas trifle you will need to bake the cake and let
cool. Next, prepare the pudding and chill. I recommend using the
instant pudding because it is easier and faster. Since this trifle only
has 3 layers that is all the work you will have to do to get started.
You are now ready to start the layer in your trifle bowl.
I like to start with the cake at the bottom so that it provides a
base and it makes it easier to serve. I normally just crumble up the
cake when I make the layers, but you can cut pieces and stick them into
the bowl for each layer too. Here are the layers I did:
- Layer of Red Devil Cake
- Layer of Chocolate Pudding
- Layer of Cool Whip
- Repeat
- Top it off with Cool Whip and sprinkles/candy canes
- Enjoy!
I added some candy canes to the sides and to the top. I would not
put too many pieces of the candy cane on top though because they are
very hard compared to the texture of the trifle.
